ABOUT BNFT
A PLATFORM BUILT FOR THE NORTHEAST.
Bharat Northeast Football Trophy (BNFT) is an 11-a-side football tournament in Delhi designed to give emerging and overlooked football talent from Northeast India the opportunity to compete in a professionally organised environment, demonstrate their ability and be seen on a wider stage.
BNFT is being developed as more than a community event: a recurring competitive platform bringing players, student unions, clubs, football institutions and supporters together around meaningful football opportunity.
THE STORY
WHY WE STARTED BNFT.
Many footballers from Northeast India continue playing after moving to Delhi, representing student unions and community teams. These matches reveal talent and commitment, but performances are not always documented, shared or connected to wider football opportunities.
BNFT emerged from conversations among United Bharat F.C., 1Eleven Sports Advisory and Northeast student unions about how that gap could be addressed. It is being shaped as a credible competitive environment where players can test themselves, build a visible record of performance and come into the view of clubs, coaches, scouts and football institutions.
The purpose is not to promise contracts or selection. It is to create a stronger stage from which the next opportunity can become possible.
MISSION
CREATE A CREDIBLE STAGE FOR NORTHEAST FOOTBALL TALENT.
To provide emerging and community footballers from Northeast India with meaningful 11-a-side competition, documented participation and greater visibility within a professionally organised environment.
VISION
BUILD A TRUSTED ROUTE TOWARDS WIDER FOOTBALL OPPORTUNITY.
To develop BNFT into a recurring, appropriately recognised and affiliated tournament that communities, clubs and football institutions can trust as a platform for competition, discovery and progression.
WHAT BNFT IS BUILT TO DO
Four commitments. One platform.
Give community players and emerging talent meaningful 11-a-side matches in a professionally organised tournament environment.
Create player information, match footage, performance highlights and opportunities to be seen by clubs, coaches, scouts and football institutions.
Build connections that may lead to trials, recruitment, training or other next-step opportunities, without guaranteeing selection or contracts.
Pursue appropriate recognition and affiliation, document participation and deliver the tournament through responsible football governance and operations.
